Time is just a flyin!!! It's December already...it's actually been for over a week now. As time flies in the real world, it seems to even go faster in mine where publications seem WAY ahead of schedule! Finished an awesome cover shoot yesterday for Military Spouse Magazine. Not to rush it...but it will debut in February, equipt with flowers. Thought I'd share the last 2 covers I did for them...both November and December...

Between here and there, Zimmie slipped into my schedule to rock out some new press photos! Super fun day. Zimmie's look was classic, sporting killer Dita,Statesman frames from Heidi Optics. Black and white images began in my studio, briefed for a fantastic dinner at Bite Bistro. We completed with color and a few black and whites for an iconic look at my favorite retro attic. Equipped with vinyl, turntables and others wonderful furnishings, Sam hooked us up, thanks again! I love working with friends, and creatives...and even better, friends that are creatives! So much fun and so much room for play...

Donora across America..

I'm so stoked to not only see Pittsburgh as apart of this NYLON magazine spread;Bands Across America, but also so excited I got to be a part of it. I first heard of all the rage of Donora a few years back, and eventually photographed their amazing first, self titled album and press pics. Fast forward, after their release of their second, and brand new album,"Boyfriends,Girlfriends",and I was able to join them on set at a local favorite,Pageboy Boutique,while filming and capturing images for NYLON. The set looked great and I totally enjoyed listening and capturing the intimate event. They are just so damn good =) Had to share more pics, as there are many favorites.I particularly loved the softness and ambience of the color images, loved how they showcase the band and the store.

And...If you haven't already experienced Donora, I highly recommend! They're playing a set this Friday, the 18th, at the Brillobox, and again on Dec. 3rd. If you'd like a chance to catch them live, do so now! Donora is easy to love, easy to listen to, and the type of sound that manifests itself into your head, to which you will find yourself humming along, even hours after you've listened to them. Fun loving,and uber talented, these guys deserve all of the recognition they have received and I'm hopeful they will be receiving plenty more in the days to come. Lululemon Opens Showroom! My work with Lululemon!

Wow! I realize it has definitely been a moment since my last entry, and as I reflect on my life since my last post, I see there has been so much happening! It's just that sometimes it takes slowing down for a moment to really take it all in....or so it seems right now anyway. I am excited to share new projects on my horizon as they surface more publicly, and excited to make dreams flourish. As a creative, I take pride in sharing my visions with the world, meeting new people, being introduced to new walks of life, and developing new relationships with people and clients.The lifestyle of being a photographer can be quite fantastic! That said, my weekend started with a bang, as it was the opening of Pittsburghs,Lululemon Athletica Showroom in Shadyside.

Yoga has been a huge part of my life for the past few years. Practicing at Pratique,and Yoga Flow, as well as on my own, I find my mat is a place where I can go to ground myself, to quiet my mind. A place where I can go to just breathe. A place to go to push myself, and really live every moment as it is. I work on applying this way of being in my own life outside of my yoga mat as well. Creating an empowering context for life, in a way that drives me, makes me smile, and breath a bit more at ease. So it was mid August when Lululemon contacted me about photographing their local Pittsburgh Ambassadors, and I was beyond excited!! I've always admired them and their ethics, and there's nothing better than working with people that can easily pull out and emphasize the best of you. I spent two days all over the city with five amazing women photographing for the new showroom in Shadyside. From Phipps Conservatory, to riversides, to abandon places, I had so much fun getting to know the ambassadors as well as Lululemons local team!The store is BEAUTIFUL, and encompasses many wonderful things! Free yoga classes, workshops, and all kinds of great things happening! Do check it out! The Ambassador images caress the store walls in an impressive size,and as far as the clothing goes, I'll take one of everything in my size please =) Hopeful for the future to bring more work with Lululemon, and others just as unique and wonderful!

It's been a long time coming! Nyxon and myself finally got a chance to align and alas, we have produced a killer set of pin up images with wardrobe provided by GirdleBound! Nyxon was more than a delight to work with, can't wait to do it again!

If you ever have the need for corsets, bullets, cinchers, vintage inspired pieces, or perhaps you just want to feel a little sexy or scandalous, look no further, girdlebound offers it all! I will definatley be keeping them in my contact list for future shoots, the wardrobe was way too perfect for my world of pin up. I grabbed my russian-caravan-tea perfume fresh from the shower this morning and was reminded of this special little place I photographed a few months back. Bloom organic skincare parlor, is a quaint, charming, nook in Lawrenceville, that I must return to! I photographed their smoothing pumpkin facial on one of my best friends and go to "I need a perfect,natural pretty face", for Pittsburgh Magazine's Best of Issue, and am reminded of it every time I spray my water purfume that I bought that day. The sensory of smell of which triggers memories is an incredible thing. I imagine that is how some perfume may have gotten it's name in the first place... Just a simple reflection of life, and a reminder to not loose sight of those little things.

Stark|Music|Mac Miller

Another spot I share in Starks debut issue is a spot in the world of music, focusing on one of Pittsburghs newest Hip Hop superstars, Mac Miller. He's young, fresh and speaks words of kind consciousness, ambitions of life and the fun simple enjoyments that are too often overlooked.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mac and posse at their hotel prior to show their State College show. A shared van ride, and backstage privilages to catch glimpse into their lives before and after taking stage. The expierence was nothing short of fun, light and positive, listening to the further dreams of their youth that aren't too far out of reach. These guys kept the crowd energized and wanting more, and I’m sure there’s way more to come… A few of my favorites, here but for more check out in Stark, and more on my website, misslphotography under documentary....enjoy!

Short and Sweet

There's a great satisfaction when you can find the time to experiment. A few moments at the end of a shoot, when there's an urge to just keep shooting even when the "job" is done. While everything in studio is still in tact, just allowing the creative juices to keep flowing, to try a few things, and to do so effortlessly and light hearted . Sometimes I wonder if I even know what I"m doing, when things just seem to work...ya know?? There's an on going joke of how it seems as though, I just set up the lights, put them in place, turn them on, and do no more, b/c they're already nearly perfect. I guess I'm just in tune with my craft and there comes a time, when you just know.

So, it was one of those days that the long awaited Roderick finally got his chance to be in front of my camera, debuting in his first photo shoot ever, and he did awesome!! We had a great experimental session, Adrianna behind the makeup duties, and I love our results.With that, I will say, as much as I love sitting down and finessing a photo, I LOVE, like no other, finding new ways to photograph things, leaving post minimal. Seeing things "in camera", like how it used to be. It's Magical really. Any-who..as I did the shoot, I'm keeping this short and sweet...just thought it was about time time for a little share =)

Pin Up- Follow Up

As I'm uploading images from a successful pin up shoot yesterday, I thought I"d take a moment to reflect on the my creation of them and also the Valentines Day promotion I did last month.

I started off doing pin ups, really to see if I could. Looking at retro paintings and tweaking the lighting ever so carefully to create an image that may appear to be just that. With that success much followed and still does. Through the years I've had multiple gallery shows, I've had images in film sets, created a calendar for breast cancer awareness, had private commissions, and it's a new experience every time. And just so you ladies and gentlemen know...I always offer these commissioned shoots. I always work with a team of hair and makeup, discuss wardrobe and set options, and I always consult so every girl is a bit different from the next!

It really is amazing what you can do when you join forces, I"ll tell you that much. Don't know what I would do without collaboration and the great efforts of other talented people. As for this Valentines promo,the idea of it all came to me a bit over a week before the sessions began. My fierce team of Makeup by Adrianna and my own personal hair stylist that rocks, Sarah and co-worker/friend Chelsea of Salon Uzori, made it all seamless and possible for me! Thanks guys! Within a few days,all of my slots were booked and the ladies were still inquiring!

I'm not quite sure I have a favorite among this set..all of them are truly different and reflect every girls personality. Some I chose to to leave nearly as is, some I added a distressed worn look, which I'm getting a great response from. My boyfriend has been ever so kind to share his artistic talents and also work in drawing whatever prop I don't have, or whatever I think may add a special touch. Hope you enjoy these...they're pretty easy on the eyes =)

|stillness in still life & doing what you love|

Who knew I would ever start taking pictures of food? I didn't.But then it came to me, naturally. If you're anyone that I've ever talked to about my photography, you know that I love every little thing about what I do. And most importantly to me, every day brings forward something a little bit different. In that, I continuously find balance, freedom, challenge, ease, and newness. I love the person to person interaction and getting to know people, having continued relationships with people after my camera hits my side, and creating from the ground up.I love the journalistic aspect of waiting for the moment, capturing a moment in time.. it all is really, really good!! And, despite all of what photographing people and the moments of life gives me, I find my zen in what photographing food brings me . A sense of back to basics. A literal sense of still-ness within still-life. I think back to the paintings and photographs once studied in art history class, the images that most any person would recognize. I think yes,perhaps these were about content, but equally about color, balance,dimension,depth, lighting and simplicity. And all in all...the still life creates a stillness at that moment of time. A moment to sip in your breath, and focus on the little details that lie in front of you.

I remember walking into one of the first restaurants I ever photographed; Bigelow Grille, where I photographed a pierogie like I had never seen before. It was seemingly different from my grandmothers pierogie, and yet it looked and tasted wonderful. This was not food how I knew it, but through my lens, I got to know it,again..paying attention to the color palette, texture, and all of the little things that made it perfect. And with this particular food, the light didn't just come with the food, but also the man behide the pierogie...Kevin Sousa.

It was these first photo sessions that gave me not just the sense of zen and beauty that photographing food can bring, but also the appreciation of those behind the creation of it. There is an art and science within creating and capturing, and in this particular moment, I caught glimpse of that. I reflected on the inspiration and encouragement of this man, so confident in what he does, and who he is, he wears it on his sleeves. There's a pride and love that goes into not just what you do, but who you you are. There's something about striving to be the best at what you do that encompasses your ability to take on what's next.

So, as the years have gone by, my love for food and the creation of it has grown has grown. I've had the experience to work with amazingly talented chefs and appreciate all of what they have to offer.My images have been a little bit of everywhere, locally and nationally, and most recently composed in Real Eats Magazine . Kevins new restaurant,Salt of the Earth , included, is one of my personal favorites, among the rest of the worlds...or so it seems! The food is like nothing I've ever tasted before, leaving the palate fulfilled having tasted so many flavors in just one bite alone. My taste buds yearn for more, and every time I eat there, I think I've had the best meal of my life. Frequent visits at times have my camera in tow, sitting at the counter to capture the colorful palate behind the line, doing what they do best. Everything so consisitant everytime. Every bite equally matching the next, yet a newness each time. So that said, as I like my photo sessions, I enjoy my food and dining experience just the same. A bit of still-ness to reflect on your moment, and to take it all in, but exciting and new too!

Clean Eating Magazine and Me!

So happy to say that I'm starting the New Year with a new Magazine under my belt! I photographed a nice editorial spread for this Ontario based Foodie,"Meal-Improving" Magazine, featuring Pittsburgh's local " Dinette" in the Travel Well section. I had a great time photographing and working with owner and chef Sonja Finn (again!) and am excited for her global recognition as it is well deserved. Check it out if you haven't already..scrumptious food and pizza oh-my! , to say the least ,and the wine will leave you feeling nice and warm on these cold winter days! And as for the magazine... Clean Eating is quite easy on the eyes to fall into, and leaves you with the eager desire to give the recipes a whirl in your own kitchen. Think I'll be subscribing to this one! Pick it up if you haven't already...even if it's only to turn to my spread starting on pg.82. In the meantime, here are a few of my fav's from our shoot..

Tattoo series is in the making ...

So I've been wanting to start a little series for awhile and have done two shoots feeling it out a bit. My friend Zane commissioned me to do this first image (above) for his recent promotions lending me to this. Old Sailor Jerry-esk,a little worn and rough around the edges.Love it! On the other hand, when Matt tattoos friends, in this case model friends which is even better!, I always have the intention to make a little shoot out of it. Alas I did! Rachel is one of my favorite muses to work with and the shoot was simple and she gave me a classic Hepburn look.Oh how similar, yet different they all may be. Excited to say the least. Definitely more to continue..this is just the beginning!

Chloe's Adornments

Not just any party. Not just any "jewelry" party. Chloe's Adornments, like it's founder, the lovely Marsha Murman, is like no other. From scarves, to handbags,to headbands to jewelry of all kinds; earrings, necklace, bracelets,etc...the whole spread is quite a delight. That being said,"The Traveling Boutique" has found it's way to my studio again, this Thursday from 7-9 and I"m quite excited about it! Come one, come all, just in time for holiday gifts!Many have inquired about the goods, so I took it upon myself to photograph some of my purchases ( and name them too), from CA for you to see. Honestly, I can't live without them! I have about a million items to choose from every morning, noon and night, and so often, I'm going for the same ones,like the staple pieces you see below.Not only that, I have my moments that I choose my accessories before I choose my attire.... Although I don't photograph too many weddings per year, I have to admit that I do love them! Watching a couple unfold their lives, and then fold into one, is a beautiful thing. I love the story the day tells and then re-living the whole thing again once I sit down to edit the images. I was fortunate to photograph one of the many popular 10-10-10 weddings this year, with my fantastic little sister of a shooter, Ashlee Gray. Almost Fathers Day...

And the second my finger pushed the button, I immediately thought this image couldn't represent fathers day any more!

As babies aren't my everyday subject , the day I photographed this little man;nearly 2 weeks old, I may have reconsidered. Such a charmer. I have more than a weakness for babies and children. I just adore them, and I always have. So innocent, so fragile, so irresistibly cute, I can't wait to have them....but clearly I will! So, any of you reading this with little ones..bring it on! Suppress my waves of baby fever, and I promise you will have some amazing photos of your mini-me's!

I more than enjoyed my day, 2 hours rather with baby Xavier and his super cool parents! Hope you enjoy a sample from our day!

An ode to Mothers and Norman Rockwell on Mothers Day

So, it was only a moment ago..maybe a month or so,that my friend Sarah Lolley approached me about doing a photo shoot that would merge myself and Norman Rockwell meets MAD magazine. I love Norman Rockwell! Who doesn't, right! ? I remember as a young girl my Grammy gifting me Rockwells, "Girl at the Mirror", musical wind up figurine.It was so beautiful..well it still is! It's the type of gift that will never be dated, always be cherished, and passed along once it's time for me to have a baby girl of my own. Sarah and I met up my first free moment after my trip. We discussed many options leading to our shoot, all in the meantime, hoping she wouldn't go early, allthough I think she's "over" being pregnant at this stage of the game and is eager for the baby's grand entrance. Our shoot was nothing short of amazing and all fun in the process of picking and choosing the set for her kitchen, mixing vintage pieces I borrowed from fabulous antique friends, with her modern kitchen. I could not be more pleased with the results of these and am excited to continue this as a series after the baby no.2 is born. To all the mothers...have a wonderful day..xoxo,L

Up at 6:30 am on Easter to get in a bit of editing w/o any candy or anything left from a bunny of any sort...

I know it's been a minute but I assure you that there's so much more to come! These images are looking amazing and are bringing back the trip as I go through them! I really miss those guys. They truly are just great guys all around and deserve every piece of success and stardom to come. Nonetheless,I 've been home now for a little over a week and not only am I going through and editing photos from my adventures on the road w/The Rustlanders,I've also successfully completed 7 photoshoots in the 10 days i've been back... Let the editing begin...or continue I should say...

The Story Behind the Space Helmet

Along our journey from Austin to New Mexico, Corry and I spent some quality van time to create for you "Lunar Lawrence". Enjoy...

Lunar Lawrence has had a bittersweet life. He’d gone places where most people will never go, up, up, and away you could say. One day while looking down on the big blue marble, Lunar Lawrence realized he hadn’t really seen anything at all. Sure he saw what only few will view but he’s never been from sea to sea.

You see, Lunar Lawrence, or LL as he’s sometimes called, was owned by NASA and they would not allow him to go anywhere but up in the atmosphere. LL had more on his mind - he wanted to explore from east to west – over and across.

Tragically, the only direction Lunar Lawrence went from this point in his life was down.
He began stealing anti-bacterial hand sanitizer from NASA, filtering out the alcohol to make his own concoction of Lunar Moonshine. What began, as a way of escape soon became an addiction that in turn, lead to his release from the NASA Compound. What should have been a wonderful day for Lawrence was rather a frightening experience. Finally released onto land, he was free to travel and experience the world in a whole new way.

Lunar Lawrence, by now a full-fledged alcoholic, had no family, no home, nowhere to turn. He fell deeper and deeper down until one fateful night he met someone who promised him a new life full of adventure, riches and all the things to cure his jonesin’. Lunar Lawrence jumped at the opportunity but to his negligence had entered a life of slavery where he would be bought and sold over and over – used, abused, discarded and bruised.

By now, Lunar Lawrence had been so misused that his owners saw him as useless and discarded him like trash.

One afternoon Lawrence, in a plastic bag at the bottom of a barrel, saw a beam of light eclipse
the darkness. An angel reached down - lifted him up and took him home to her son. Her motherly instinct recognized that Lunar Lawrence had suffered a hard and traumatic voyage. He needed a healing journey and she knew just the thing. In a life of ups and down sometimes you find yourself by going side to side. And so it was decided that, to make him whole, Lunar Lawrence would make the crossing from east to west and finally realize his dream.

From Pittsburgh to Kentucky to Nashville....

St. Patty’s Day; Everyone’s hung over and a little green today.

So, the journey continues. On the road with the Rustlanders, on the “Rust Bus”. We left Pittsburgh yesterday, drove to Elizabethtown KY, woke up for a fantastic breakfast at the Waffle House and just arrived to Nashville where they will be playing Picks tonight. Headed to Arkansas later tonight and then to Austin for SXSW. I think I’ve just made up my mind to continue this journey with them out to LA, rather than flying home from Texas. Just crossing my fingers that the budget can handle my airfair but hopefull non the less.. Yippie!!
I just had a conversation not too long ago while driving back from Chicago, of how I’ve always wanted to travel cross-country. It’s all about putting you’re life into what you love and creating what you want for yourself! That said, what better way to live that than in a van with a band who is about to record with Don Was, who according to Corry , “is a kind and gentle soul, who’s almost bigger than life”. He has produced artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Bonnie Rait, just to name a few.These guys are amazing and I’m honored to be along for the ride. Loving every moment of it, more to come…L

For the love of talented artist friends...

Chris and Ollie approached me a few months ago as they were in the works of their duo artshow; Kemist One, Rose One, Presented by Artform Gallery and Tattoo. I was stoked to be apart as they are both killer artists and knew we'd have a great time joining forces. The theme was "day of the dead" and the lovely Lauren Toohey made the look come together with her artistic face-paint ability. I couldn't have been happier with the results and the night of the show, I was taken back by the presentation as one of each of the guys were framed out in coffins, they made which stood the realistic 6ft high and were the first pieces that were seen when entering the show. Feedback was nothing short of amazing and I'm eager to collaborate again. I talked to Lauren about having a show at my studio in the fall, joining 15+ selected artists in a skull/day of the dead theme. Lauren agreed to paint the faces of all the artists and I will be photographing each of them,male and female, to be hung next to their work. I photographed Shannon for the cover and feature of this issue and am super happy with the results! Props to Nadia Salon for the fantastic hair, makeup by no other than Adrianna and wardrobe by Sugar boutique. Love this teaser..ah, how I love lighting.

Resolution came and went and it went fantastic! So happy with the turn out and many thanks from the bottom of my heart for all who came out to show support, and all who've been by my side through my career. I've accomplished a lot so far but I love knowing it's just the beginning...

Wow...these past 2 weeks have been CRAZY!!! That being said, I am excited to be where I am now and eager for tomorrow to come. Tomorrow night is the official launch of www.misslphotography.com! I spent oh so long creating this site, going through an abundance of my work,and working with amazing talent to create must photographed ideas before I was done! So glad to have it finished and am now aiming to create and expand my vision to the national/international level...at least more than it allready is!
I'm excited for the evening, and celebration, not only for myself but for my lovely ms.maize...kellee maize that is. I know she's worked oh so hard on recording her 2 cd and put alot of love into it. I was fortuiante enough to do all of her photography for both her album and press kit. Tomorrows event will feature many of my photographs,various artwork from artist: all for sale, as well as spectacular performances by kellee and many guests. Proceeds from the event will be going to girleffect.org and to the bresma orphanage, port-au-prince haiti. hope to see your face there....L

It was so refreshing to see Ali first thing this morning on TV. Allthough I wish I could've been present at that moment, I'm just happy she made it here safely. I'm eager for Jamie to return and have the two of them together again...in a safe place. We take for granted the "little" things in life. I'm realizing that nothing is really little anymore. It's all of the little things that add up and make the ultimate difference in the world. All the difference for humanity.literally.These girls truly represent what the world should be about. For the love of life...

Awaitng the girls

Wow. It's been awhile since my last post. Ironically I was at that time too raising awareness and money for BRESMA. So much has happened since then, but none like the last week. My last few days have been more up and down than one could imagine. I"m sitting on the edge of my seat as word constantly changes. I can not stop thinking of Jamie and Ali's strength and how much love they share. My stomach is in knots,and I can't seem to hold back tears. Soon....

2nd Annual Ti Kanaval-Artists for Orphans

Location:Altar Bar, Strip District, Pittsburgh

As you may or may not know, I was fortunate enough to spend some time last year at the B.R.E.S.M.A orphanage in Port-Au-Prince Haiti.

Successfully,Eva and I returned from our trip to Port-Au-Prince Haiti and began putting on gallery shows displaying and selling our photographs , donating 50% to the orphanage. In January 2009 Pittsburgh Magazine ran a feature story http://www.wqed.org/mag/features/0109/love_haiti1.php highlighting my images and the lives of Jamie and Alison McMutrie, the wonderful girls I stayed with the ARE the function of the orphanage. Ti Kanaval-Artists for Orphans was one of which we contributed to last year, structured by Ali Pace. Again, this year, Ali has rounded up the troupes and will be putting on the 2nd Annual Ti Kanaval-Artists for Orphans. If you are an artist who is interested in donating, please contact me. As for the trip. This trip showed me the world! I identified a fine line between being an observer with a camera, and being in the moment enough to identify with the realism of the present. I strive to do both. I was once told to expect nothing, I would never be disappointed, and while traveling to my first third world country; I could only expect nothing, and everything at the same time. I was not disappointed, but in love.

To see everything from nothing formed a smile on my face, as did a majority of the Haitians around me. A sense of having nothing, but not knowing, brought a form of joy not seen before. I had the pleasure of recognizing the raw beauty around me, although simultaneously hearing plenty of the not so beautiful. On any given day, I was embraced with open arms from children that wondered if they were ever going to see me again, let alone, ever be photographed again. A sense of the unknown, allowed for the presence of time to only experience the now. How I long to return.

Latest Pin Up Set and vintage approach

I've finished another pin up set! Lacy was fantastic to work with and although I did my "traditional" set up with her, I also went another route too. My girls are known for their boldness, however I really liked the idea of aging them. Lacy was the first one that I aged, which led me to go back through ones I've done earlier this year and created a series of them with this vintage/aged feel. Loved it soo much I created my skateboard for project 50/50 based upon it!

Wow! I don't think I've had a busier week, or so it seems! First things First...one of my pin up girls has gone missing! As a collection of 5 was displayed at one of my favorite hot spots in the city, it seems now it is down to 4. Have YOU seen her hanging anywhere, outside of New Amsterdam?I must say that although I am kinda bummed..it's also, well, kinda cool. Apparently it was seen just a couple of days ago, and now there is nothing but an empty space on the wall, and an empty frame found inside the closet.This piece was reasonably price, as it was a run of 20, but I suppose the price just went up! Really, I just want to know who the character is that is responsible for this, maybe I can offer you some community service, assisting me for the price of the image...hummmm..

Oh Chicago, how I loved BEING with you

Oh so refreshed and ready to jump into all of my desires! What an amazing long weekend! Chicago is a beautiful city and it just reinforced the idea of traveling and seeing the world. I met some truly amazing people that I will carry with me for the rest of my life...really.
I love how people can be connected as though though they've known one another for a lifetime, although only moments. I have to say those were the most stand out moments I shared there! Eager to return and travel a bit more.

Inspiration

Inspiration is a key factor in life and I truly value those who inspire me. I like to surround myself with those people I call creatives,but really it could be anyone. Just stopping and taking a look around, and really being observant can really make a difference in the world. Lending an open ear, can likewise. But as a photographer: back to the visuals!
There can't be enough visual stimulant in the world of photography. Looking at these two images: one of which I took- the one on the left, and the one of the right was forwarded to me through the grapevine and was taken by a photographer in Oregon I believe; ( I would credit him/her but don't know the direct source it came from). At first I was taken back by it, but now I have to look at it and say, "I'm glad I could be an inspiration", I guess it really is the best form of flattery.

I photographed Miss iJustine a few months ago for Pittsburgh Magazine and had such a great time doing so! The October issue which features her on the cover,followed by Jonathan Wanders fabulous writing talent inside, is now on newstands and you can check it out here: www.pittsburghmagazine.com. Jonathan's son, Alex was the man shooting the video from behind the sceens, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't even realize that he captured so much great footage!

So in the reality of things, I actually, FINALLY sat down to start my new website and am super stoked about it. It's totally going to take a minute, but the creative juices are flowing and I'm eager to continue. Man...do I have a few bodies of work!I think as long as I focus...it will get done. I may have to take a baby break from shooting personal work..yikes!!
I find it hard not to have a camera in my hand, especially now as the 5d Mark II just walked into my life, so in love!

I thought that since I find absolutely no time to create my website, I'd start this to get the ball rolling. Why is it we find no time for ourselves, and constantly put everyone else first? Oh, wait, I think that's what being a photographer is all about. Satisfying everyone else's needs. It's cool, I love it! It's what I do, it's my passion. That said..stay tuned.
